Vigo’s Very Own Rising Star – It’s Official

So, we know that we’re excellent at what we do (we have testimonials to prove it!)… but now it’s official! Our very own Tom Barbat, IT Operations Manager, has been recognised at the Wirral Business Awards 2017 by winning the Rising Star award, sponsored by Young Chamber.

Five members of the Vigo team attended the gala dinner and awards ceremony on Friday 22 September at Thornton Manor, along with 500 of the region’s key business leaders.

Wirral Chamber of Commerce’s annual event is one of the largest and most prestigious in the region, celebrating business innovation and entrepreneurship in the North West.

With the aim of rewarding excellence and best practice across all sectors and industries, as well as shining a light on the positive impact businesses make on the local, national and international economy, Vigo IT Solutions is proud to have been recognised through the award-win of Tom but also by being shortlisted for the Wirral Business of the Year (under 11 employees) award.

Wirral Business Awards was sponsored by Progress to Excellent Group Ltd and Russell Taylor Group and was hosted by award-winning journalist and Editor of Business Cloud, Chris Maguire, this year’s special guests were Ranvir Singh Political Editor of ITV’s Good Morning Britain and Steve Rotheram, Liverpool City Region Metro Mayor.

Speaking about the qualities of the award winners, Paula Basnett, CEO of Wirral Chamber of Commerce, said, “This is a night when businesses come together and celebrate with each other success and achievement. This event applauds the work of our businesses community and showcases just some of the many businesses bringing national and international success to the region.

“The businesses which have reached the final clearly reflect our sector diversity, a diversity which has gained Wirral a reputation of excellence and one which not only innovates but supports success.”

This year, we look forward to continuing our work within the business community, as well as inspiring young people to get involved in IT.
