Vigo IT Solutions has been announced as one of the shortlisted entries for Wirral Business of the Year (under 11 employees) at this year’s Wirral Business Awards.

In an exciting twist, IT Operations Manager, Tom Barbat, has been shortlisted for the Rising Star Award.

Having established itself as one of Wirral’s best-loved IT support companies, it should come as no surprise that Vigo has been shortlisted for this well-respected award.

From humble beginnings in 2008 to a team of ten strong, Vigo covers all areas of Wirral, Cheshire and Merseyside with IT support and maintenance, as well as security, training and strategy services.

At being shortlisted for Wirral Business of the Year, Director Kurt Beaumont-Jones says: “It’s nice to get some recognition for all the people at Vigo who’ve worked so hard to help the business grow. Also this will be our last chance to win this award as we’ll have 12 staff members by the end of September!”.

25-year-old Tom, employed with Vigo since 2011, has progressed from IT Apprentice to IT Operations Manager in six short years. Directors Kurt, Mike Lewis and Naomi Kishigami nominated Tom for this award due to his “natural talent and ability to adapt and learn a wide variety of new skills. He’s a very talented guy!”, says Kurt.

Upon hearing the news of being shortlisted, Tom said: “I’m honoured to be shortlisted for the Rising Star Award and I’m looking forward to attending the awards ceremony to celebrate local businesses.”

Now recognised as one of the North West’s most prestigious business events, Wirral Business Awards is a celebration of best business practice and entrepreneurship. Not only is the aim to reward excellence across all sectors but the Awards also acknowledges the positive impact businesses make on the local, national and international economy.

Taking place on 22 September, Wirral Business Awards 2017 is hosted within the walled garden of Thornton Manor. It is estimated that the event will attract over 500 key business leaders, who will attend the gala awards ceremony and dinner.
